Product Overview
The Feline fPL Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the quantitative detection of the concentration of pancreatic lipase (fPL) in feline serum or plasma.
Suitable for:
🐈 Cats at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & shelters 🔬 Field screening
Key Features
| 🎯 Quantitative result | Analyzer-computed concentration displayed on the VETSEE G2 screen in μg/L |
| 🧬 Target | Pancreatic lipase |
| 📊 Detection range | 2–100 μg/L |
| ⚡ Fast result | About 10 minutes |
| 🔬 Highly selective | Target-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies |
| ❄️ Room-temp storage | 2–30 °C, no cold chain needed |
| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test is based on a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card features a testing window with an initially invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone. When the treated sample is applied, the liquid flows laterally across the NC membrane; the target analyte in the sample reacts with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies and forms a visible T line at the test zone. The optoelectronic system of the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer analyzes the signal intensity of the T line against the lot-specific calibration curve (imported by scanning the QR code), and the concentration is displayed directly on the analyzer screen. The C line indicates a valid test result.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use. |
| 2 | Collect specimen — collect serum or plasma following standard veterinary procedures. |
| 3 | Prepare sample — use a pipette to add 100 μL of the assay buffer into a centrifuge tube, then add 25 μL of the serum or plasma specimen into the same centrifuge tube and mix thoroughly. Use the mixed liquid as the treated sample for the assay. |
| 4 | Turn on the analyzer — turn on the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer and use its scanner to scan the QR code on the inner label of the box or the label of the bag to import the calibration curve into the analyzer. |
| 5 | Load the test card — remove the test card from the foil pouch. Position the front of the card facing up, ensuring that the sample well is oriented towards the outside of the test card slot of the analyzer, then insert the card into the slot. |
| 6 | Apply sample — use a pipette to add 100 μL of the treated sample into the sample well. |
| 7 | Run the test — push the test card to the farthest end of the test card slot and tap "Standard Test" on the screen; the result is displayed in about 10 minutes. |
* The result is calculated and displayed by the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer (Standard Test); refer to Result Interpretation for the reference range.
Result Interpretation
| Concentration | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| ≤ 3 μg/L | Normal |
| 3–6 μg/L | Mild abnormal |
| > 6 μg/L | Abnormal, possibility of pancreatitis |
The concentration of fPL is displayed directly on the screen of the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer (detection range 2-100 μg/L). When the analyzer screen displays "invalid", the operating procedures should be reviewed and the test repeated.
* Suggested reference ranges were established based on a certain region; because of varietal and regional differences, each laboratory should establish its own reference range. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Feline serum or plasma. |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | About 10 minutes after starting the test on the analyzer. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | Yes — the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer is required; the concentration is calculated and displayed automatically. |
| Q | How is the concentration reported? |
| A | The analyzer displays the concentration directly on its screen (detection range 2–100 μg/L); compare it with the reference range in Result Interpretation. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
