Intended Use

The Ovine early pregnancy Quanti-Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative detection of the ovine progesterone concentration in ovine serum or plasma specimen. By measuring the concentration of progesterone in the specimen, this product is designed to have a detection limit of 3ng/ml and is suitable for continuous testing on 20-25 days after insemination. Ewe with progesterone levels ≥3ng/ml within 20 to 25 days after insemination are diagnosed as pregnant. If the progesterone level was <3ng/mL at any time during this period, the ewe was diagnosed as non-pregnant. The Ovine early pregnancy Quanti-Test can be applied to FIC-Q100N Dry Immunoassay Analyzer for result reading.

 

Principle

The Ovine early pregnancy Quanti-Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. 
When the treated sample was applied into the sample well on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. The higher the progesterone content in the sample, the weaker the T line color rendering. If the concentration of the ovine progesteroneis exceeding 3ng/mL, the results of ovine progesterone concentration could be detected by the FIC-Q100N Dry Immunoassay Analyzer. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of progesterone antigen in the specimen.
