Product Overview

The Feline Calicivirus-Herpesvirus Type1-Coronavirus-Panleukopenia Virus-Toxoplasma-Giardia Ag Combo Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid screening of feline calicivirus and feline herpesvirus type-1 antigens in secretions from the feline eye conjunctiva or nasal cavities, together with feline coronavirus, feline panleukopenia virus, Toxoplasma gondii and Giardia lamblia antigens in feline feces, from a single specimen collection.

Suitable for:

🐈 Cats at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & shelters 🔬 Field screening

Detection Principle

The test is based on sandwich method lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card features 6 testing windows, each containing a T (test) zone and a C (control) zone that are initially invisible before the assay. When the treated sample is applied, the liquid flows laterally across the NC membrane of each test strip, interacting with pre-coated target-specific reagents respectively. The presence of target analytes in the sample results in a visible T line, while the appearance of the C line indicates a successful assay.

Test Procedure

1Equilibrate — Allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15-25°C) for 10 minutes before use.
2Collect sample — Collect secretions from the feline eye conjunctiva or nasal cavities with a specimen collection swab for the FCV-FHV windows, and collect fresh feline feces with another swab (from the feline anus or from the ground, with the amount covering about 1/3 to 2/3 of the swab tip) for the FCoV-FPV-TOXO-GIA windows.
3Prepare sample — Insert the secretion swab into the FCV-FHV assay buffer tube and the fecal swab into the FCoV-FPV-TOXO-GIA assay buffer tube, agitate the swab in the buffer to elute the specimen, and use the liquid supernatant as the treated sample.
4Apply sample — Remove the test card from the foil pouch and place it flat. With a disposable dropper, add 3 drops of the treated secretion sample into each of the FCV and FHV sample wells, and add 4 drops of the treated fecal sample into each of the FCoV, FPV, TOXO and GIA sample wells.
5Read result — Start the timer and read the result at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing.

Result Interpretation

C lineT lineResultInterpretation
VisibleVisiblePositive (+)Target detected in the corresponding testing window. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present.
VisibleNot visibleNegative (−)No target detected.
No lineAnyInvalidTest failed in the corresponding window; repeat with a new test card.

The six windows are read independently. The FCV and FHV windows detect feline calicivirus and feline herpesvirus type-1 antigens in secretions from the feline eye conjunctiva or nasal cavities, while the FCoV, FPV, TOXO and GIA windows detect feline coronavirus, feline panleukopenia virus, Toxoplasma gondii and Giardia lamblia antigens in feline feces. A visible T line together with the C line in a window indicates a positive result for the corresponding target; a window in which no line appears in the C zone is invalid.

* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ

QWhich specimens can be tested?
AFeline secretions from the eye conjunctiva or nasal cavities (FCV-FHV) and feline feces (FCoV-FPV-TOXO-GIA).
QHow long until the result?
A5–10 minutes after adding the sample.
QDo I need an instrument?
ANo instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation).
QWhat if the T line is very faint?
AAny faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present.
QCan the test card be reused?
ANo. Each card is for single use only.
QWhat does the C line mean?
AThe C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat.
