Product Overview
The Felivet Chlamydia Ag Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Chlamydia felis antigen (Cf Ag) in secretions from the feline eye conjunctiva. The swab specimen is processed with two assay buffers in an extraction tube, and results can be read visually or further analyzed with a dry immunoassay analyzer.
Suitable for:
🐈 Cats at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & shelters 🔬 Field screening
Key Features
| 🎯 Dual reading modes | Visual judgment, or analysis with VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer |
| 🧬 Target | Chlamydia felis antigen |
| ⚡ Fast result | 5–10 minutes |
| 🔬 Highly selective | Target-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies |
| ❄️ Room-temp storage | 2–30 °C, no cold chain needed |
| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test card features a testing window with an initially invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone. Highly selective antibodies to chlamydia felis antigen serve as the capture (T) and gold-labeled detector antibodies. When the treated sample is added to the sample well, the liquid flows laterally across the test strip. If the target is present, a visible T line appears, which can also be recognized by the VETSEE G2 analyzer. The C line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Collect the specimen — Collect secretions from the feline eye conjunctiva with the swab until the swab is wet sufficiently. |
| 2 | Extract with buffer A — Add 10 drops of assay buffer A (approx. 300 uL) into an extraction tube, insert the swab, agitate thoroughly and press the bottom of the tube. Wait for 2 minutes. |
| 3 | Add buffer B — Add 8 drops of assay buffer B (approx. 250 uL) into the tube, agitate the swab thoroughly and press the bottom of the tube again. Wait for 1 minute. |
| 4 | Prepare the sample — Press the swab against the side of the tube and squeeze the tube while pulling out the swab to retain as much liquid as possible, then attach the dropper tip to the top of the extraction tube. |
| 5 | Run the test — Add 4 drops of the treated sample into the sample well of the test card and read the result within 10 minutes. |
* Instrumental method (Standard Test / Quick Test) also available with the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer — see the IFU for details.
Result Interpretation
| C line | T line | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Visible | Positive (+) | Target detected. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Visible | Not visible | Negative (−) | No target detected. |
| No line | Any | Invalid | Test failed; repeat with a new test card. |
With the analyzer, the result can be classified into five phases: negative (-), suspicious (+/-), weak positive (+), positive (++) and strong positive (+++), according to the Cf load. A suspicious (+/-) result is indeterminate and repeat testing is recommended.
* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Feline secretions from the eye conjunctiva. |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | 5–10 minutes after adding the sample. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | No instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation). The VETSEE G2 analyzer is optional for semi-quantitative reading. |
| Q | What if the T line is very faint? |
| A | Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
