Product Overview
The Felivet Coronavirus Ag-Felivet Coronavirus Ab Combo Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid differential diagnosis of feline coronavirus infection by detecting feline coronavirus antigen (FCoV Ag) in feces and antibodies specific to feline coronavirus (FCoV Ab) in serum, plasma or whole blood.
Suitable for:
🐈 Cats at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & shelters 🔬 Field screening
Key Features
| 🎯 Multi-marker panel | Up to 2 analytes in one test — single specimen, one preparation |
| 🧬 Target | Feline coronavirus antigen and feline coronavirus antibodies |
| ⚡ Fast result | 5–10 minutes |
| 🔬 Highly selective | Target-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies |
| ❄️ Room-temp storage | 2–30 °C, no cold chain needed |
| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test is based on sandwich method lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card features 2 testing windows, each containing a T (test) zone and a C (control) zone that are initially invisible before the assay. When the treated sample is applied, the liquid flows laterally across the NC membrane of each test strip, interacting with pre-coated target-specific reagents respectively. The presence of target analytes in the sample results in a visible T line, while the appearance of the C line indicates a successful assay.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use. |
| 2 | Collect sample — for the FCoV Ag window, collect fresh feline feces with a swab from the anus or from the ground, covering about 1/3 to 2/3 of the swab tip; for the FCoV Ab window, collect whole blood into an anticoagulant tube, or obtain serum or plasma by centrifugation. |
| 3 | Prepare sample — insert the fecal swab into the FCoV Ag assay buffer tube and agitate to release the sample, then use the liquid supernatant as the treated sample for the FCoV Ag window. Use the blood specimen directly for the FCoV Ab window. |
| 4 | Apply sample — remove the test card from the foil pouch and place it flat on a work surface. Transfer 4 drops of the treated fecal sample into the FCoV Ag sample well; for the FCoV Ab sample well, add 1 drop of the blood specimen with a capillary dropper, then 3 drops of the FCoV Ab assay buffer with a disposable dropper. |
| 5 | Read result — start the timer and read the result at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing. If there is no flow within 30 seconds, add 1 drop more of the sample. |
Result Interpretation
| C line | T line | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Visible | Positive (+) | Target detected in the corresponding testing window. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Visible | Not visible | Negative (−) | No target detected. |
| No line | Any | Invalid | Test failed in the corresponding window; repeat with a new test card. |
The two windows are evaluated independently with their own specimens: the FCoV Ag window detects feline coronavirus antigen in feces, while the FCoV Ab window detects antibodies against feline coronavirus in serum, plasma or whole blood. In each window a magenta C line must appear for the result to be valid; a visible T line together with the C line indicates a positive result for the corresponding marker (any faintly visible T line counts as positive), while a C line without a T line is negative.
* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Feline feces (FCoV Ag) and feline serum, plasma or whole blood (FCoV Ab). |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | 5–10 minutes after adding the sample. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | No instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation). |
| Q | What if the T line is very faint? |
| A | Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
