Product Overview
The Canine Parvovirus-Coronavirus Ag Duo-Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid differential diagnosis of these pathogens by detecting canine parvovirus (CPV) and canine coronavirus (CCV) antigens in canine feces, from a single specimen collection and sample preparation. Results can be read visually or further analyzed with a dry immunoassay analyzer for semi-quantitative grading.
Suitable for:
🐕 Dogs at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & breeding kennels 🔬 Field screening
Key Features
| 🎯 Dual reading modes | Visual judgment, or analysis with VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer |
| 🧬 Target | Canine parvovirus and canine coronavirus antigens |
| ⚡ Fast result | 5–10 minutes |
| 🔬 Highly selective | Target-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies |
| ❄️ Room-temp storage | 2–30 °C, no cold chain needed |
| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test card features a testing window with an initially invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone. Highly selective antibodies to canine parvovirus and canine coronavirus antigens serve as the capture (T) and gold-labeled detector antibodies. When the treated sample is added to the sample well, the liquid flows laterally across the test strip. If the target is present, a visible T line appears, which can also be recognized by the VETSEE G2 analyzer. The C line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use. |
| 2 | Collect sample — collect canine fresh feces with the swab from the anus or from the ground — the amount should cover approximately 1/3 to 2/3 of the swab tip. |
| 3 | Prepare sample — insert the swab into the assay buffer tube, agitate thoroughly, and let it stand for 30–60 seconds. Use the liquid supernatant as sample. |
| 4 | Apply sample — remove the test card from the foil pouch, place it flat, and transfer 4 drops of the treated sample into the sample well. |
| 5 | Read result — start the timer and read at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing. |
NOTE: In case of no flow in 30 seconds, add 1 more drop of the sample.
* Instrumental method (Standard Test / Quick Test) also available with the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer — see the IFU for details.
Result Interpretation
| C line | T line | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Visible | Positive (+) | Target detected. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Visible | Not visible | Negative (−) | No target detected. |
| No line | Any | Invalid | Test failed; repeat with a new test card. |
The single testing window contains a control (C) zone and two test lines arranged in the order P-C for canine parvovirus (CPV) and canine coronavirus (CCV). Read visually 10 minutes after sample application: a visible P line with the control line indicates CPV infection, a visible C line with the control line indicates CCV infection, and both lines with the control line indicate co-infection. Negative when only the control line is visible; invalid when no line appears in the control zone. With instrumental reading, the result is classified into five phases: negative (no evidence of CPV or CCV infection), suspicious or grey zone (indeterminate, repeat testing recommended), weak positive (low CPV or CCV pathogenic load), positive (middle pathogenic load) and strong positive (high pathogenic load). The analyzer result is more objective than visual judgment, especially in cases of low target loading.
* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Canine feces. |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | 5–10 minutes after adding the sample. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | No instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation). The VETSEE G2 analyzer is optional for semi-quantitative reading. |
| Q | What if the T line is very faint? |
| A | Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
