Product Overview
The Canine Ehrlichia-Leishmania Ab Duo-Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the detection of Ehrlichia canis (EHR) and Leishmania canis (LSH) antibodies in canine serum, plasma or whole blood. The single testing window carries two test lines (E and L) so that EHR and/or LSH positivity can be judged visually, or the result can be classified semi-quantitatively into five phases with a dry immunoassay analyzer.
Suitable for:
🐕 Dogs at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & breeding kennels 🔬 Field screening

| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test card features a testing window with an initially invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone. Highly selective antibodies to Ehrlichia canis and Leishmania canis antibodies serve as the capture (T) and gold-labeled detector antibodies. When the treated sample is added to the sample well, the liquid flows laterally across the test strip. If the target is present, a visible T line appears, which can also be recognized by the VETSEE G2 analyzer. The C line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use. |
| 2 | Collect sample — collect serum, plasma or whole blood following standard veterinary procedures. |
| 3 | Apply sample — remove the test card from the foil pouch, place it flat, and transfer 1 drop of the sample (using a capillary dropper) into the sample well. |
| 4 | Add buffer — transfer 3 drops of the assay buffer (using a disposable dropper) into the sample well. |
| 5 | Read result — start the timer and read at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing. |
* Instrumental method (Standard Test / Quick Test) also available with the VETSEE G2 Dry Immunoassay Analyzer — see the IFU for details.
Result Interpretation
| C line | T line | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Visible | Positive (+) | Target detected. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Visible | Not visible | Negative (−) | No target detected. |
| No line | Any | Invalid | Test failed; repeat with a new test card. |
The single testing window contains a control (C) zone and two test zones named E and L, which detect antibodies to Ehrlichia canis (EHR) and Leishmania canis (LSH) respectively. Read visually 10 minutes after sample application: Ehrlichia positive when the C and E lines are visible; Leishmania positive when the C and L lines are visible; Ehrlichia and Leishmania positive when the C, E and L lines are all visible; negative when the C line is visible without the E or L line; invalid when no line appears in the C zone. With instrumental reading, the result is classified into five phases: negative (low likelihood of EHR or LSH infection), suspicious or grey zone (indeterminate, repeat testing recommended), weak positive (low antibody titer for EHR or LSH), positive (middle antibody titer) and strong positive (high antibody titer). Repeat the test if the analyzer result conflicts with the visual judgment.
* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Canine serum, plasma or whole blood. |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | 5–10 minutes after adding the sample. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | No instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation). The VETSEE G2 analyzer is optional for semi-quantitative reading. |
| Q | What if the T line is very faint? |
| A | Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
