Product Overview
The Canivet Ehrlichia-Anaplasma-Heartworm Combo Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid differential diagnosis of ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis and heartworm disease by detecting antibodies specific to Ehrlichia canis and Anaplasma spp., together with Dirofilaria immitis antigen, in canine serum, plasma or whole blood, from a single specimen collection and sample preparation.
Suitable for:
🐕 Dogs at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & breeding kennels 🔬 Field screening
Key Features
| 🎯 Multi-marker panel | Up to 3 analytes in one test — single specimen, one preparation |
| 🧬 Target | Ehrlichia canis and Anaplasma spp. antibodies, and Dirofilaria immitis antigen |
| ⚡ Fast result | 5–10 minutes |
| 🔬 Highly selective | Target-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies |
| ❄️ Room-temp storage | 2–30 °C, no cold chain needed |
| 📦 Flexible packs | 10T kit available |
Detection Principle
The test is based on sandwich method lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card features 3 testing windows, each containing a T (test) zone and a C (control) zone that are initially invisible before the assay. When the treated sample is applied, the liquid flows laterally across the NC membrane of each test strip, interacting with pre-coated target-specific reagents respectively. The presence of target analytes in the sample results in a visible T line, while the appearance of the C line indicates a successful assay.
Test Procedure
| 1 | Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use. |
| 2 | Collect sample — collect serum, plasma or whole blood following standard veterinary procedures. |
| 3 | Apply sample — remove the test card from the foil pouch, place it flat, and transfer 1 drop of the sample (using a capillary dropper) into each sample well. |
| 4 | Add buffer — transfer 3 drops of the assay buffer (using a disposable dropper) into each sample well. |
| 5 | Read result — start the timer and read at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing. |
Result Interpretation
| C line | T line | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Visible | Positive (+) | Target detected in the corresponding testing window. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Visible | Not visible | Negative (−) | No target detected. |
| No line | Any | Invalid | Test failed in the corresponding window; repeat with a new test card. |
The three windows are read independently using the same blood specimen. Positive EHR and ANA windows indicate antibodies against Ehrlichia canis and Anaplasma spp., while a positive CHW window indicates Dirofilaria immitis antigen. In each window a magenta C line must appear for the result to be valid; a visible T line together with the C line is positive (any faintly visible T line counts as positive), a C line without a T line is negative, and a window without a C line is invalid.
* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ
| Q | Which specimens can be tested? |
| A | Canine serum, plasma or whole blood. |
| Q | How long until the result? |
| A | 5–10 minutes after adding the sample. |
| Q | Do I need an instrument? |
| A | No instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation). |
| Q | What if the T line is very faint? |
| A | Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present. |
| Q | Can the test card be reused? |
| A | No. Each card is for single use only. |
| Q | What does the C line mean? |
| A | The C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat. |
