Product Overview

The Canine Distemper-Parvovirus Ag Combo Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the detection of canine distemper virus antigen in secretions from the eye conjunctiva, nasal cavities or anus, and canine parvovirus antigen in feces, delivering a fast, visible result in 5-10 minutes.

Suitable for:

🐕 Dogs at risk of infection 🏥 Veterinary clinics & animal hospitals 🐾 Rescue centers & breeding kennels 🔬 Field screening

Key Features

🎯 Multi-marker panelUp to 2 analytes in one test — two specimens, independent preparation per window
🧬 TargetCanine distemper virus and canine parvovirus antigens
⚡ Fast result5–10 minutes
🔬 Highly selectiveTarget-specific capture and gold-labeled detector antibodies
❄️ Room-temp storage2–30 °C, no cold chain needed
📦 Flexible packs10T kit available

Detection Principle

The test is based on sandwich method lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card features 2 testing windows, each containing a T (test) zone and a C (control) zone that are initially invisible before the assay. When the treated sample is applied, the liquid flows laterally across the NC membrane of each test strip, interacting with pre-coated target-specific reagents respectively. The presence of target analytes in the sample results in a visible T line, while the appearance of the C line indicates a successful assay.

Test Procedure

1Equilibrate — allow all components to equilibrate to room temperature (15–25 °C) for 10 minutes before use.
2Collect sample — collect secretions from the eye conjunctiva, nasal cavities or anus with a swab for the CDV window, and fresh feces with a separate swab for the CPV window.
3Prepare sample — insert the secretion swab into the CDV assay buffer tube and the fecal swab into the CPV assay buffer tube, agitate thoroughly, and let them stand for 30–60 seconds. Use the liquid supernatant as sample.
4Apply sample — remove the test card from the foil pouch, place it flat, and transfer 3 drops of the treated secretion sample into the CDV sample well and 4 drops of the treated fecal sample into the CPV sample well.
5Read result — start the timer and read at 5–10 minutes. Do not move the test card during testing.

Result Interpretation

C lineT lineResultInterpretation
VisibleVisiblePositive (+)Target detected in the corresponding testing window. Any faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present.
VisibleNot visibleNegative (−)No target detected.
No lineAnyInvalidTest failed in the corresponding window; repeat with a new test card.

The two windows are evaluated independently using their own specimens: the CDV window detects canine distemper virus antigen in secretions from the eye conjunctiva, nasal cavities or anus, while the CPV window detects canine parvovirus antigen in feces.

* The C and T lines appear as magenta-colored lines. For in vitro veterinary use only — results should be considered alongside other clinical information.

FAQ

QWhich specimens can be tested?
ACanine fresh feces (CPV) and secretions from the eye conjunctiva, nasal cavities or anus (CDV).
QHow long until the result?
A5–10 minutes after adding the sample.
QDo I need an instrument?
ANo instrument is required for Method 1 (visual interpretation).
QWhat if the T line is very faint?
AAny faintly visible T line is considered positive when the C line is present.
QCan the test card be reused?
ANo. Each card is for single use only.
QWhat does the C line mean?
AThe C (control) line must always appear after sample application, indicating proper test performance. No C line = invalid test, repeat.
